Its open knit structure allows quick retrofitting onto existing harnesses without disturbing terminals, making it ideal for engine bay looms, cable management in vehicles, and industrial control panels. With 14 internal diameter options from 3mm to 76mm and a length of 1 metre per piece, you can select the exact fit for your wire bundle thickness.

Features and Construction

Designed for straightforward installation and reliable protection, this sleeve combines heat tolerance with flame retardancy in a flexible polyester construction suitable for continuous use under bonnet or in enclosed spaces.

Material and Build

The sleeve is woven from polyester monofilament, offering good resistance to abrasion and solvents while remaining lightweight. The open self-winding structure expands to accept wires and then contracts to hold them securely in place without additional ties. It carries a VW-1 flame rating, meaning it meets UL standard testing for vertical burn self-extinguishing behaviour. Operational temperature range extends from -50°C to +150°C, covering both cold-start and near-engine heat conditions.

Size and Practical Fit

Available in 14 internal diameter sizes: 3, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 19, 25, 32, 38, 45, 50, 64, and 76mm. Each piece is supplied as a 1-metre length. The sleeve can be cut to required length without fraying, and the black colour blends with most under-bonnet and interior environments. For applications requiring non-standard lengths, custom processing is available by arrangement.

Uses and Placement

This protective cover suits a variety of environments where wires need grouping, heat shielding, or chafe protection without permanent enclosure. Its flexibility makes it convenient for both new installations and retrofits.

Event or Professional Use

Car electricians, auto restoration specialists, and garages use this sleeve to organise looms in engine compartments, behind dashboards, and along chassis rails. The VW-1 rating provides added safety margin in high-temperature zones. It also works in marine and industrial control cabinets where flame spread resistance is a requirement.

Everyday Home Use

In home workshops, it can tidy up wiring for audio systems, CCTV cables, or power tool leads. The self-wrapping mechanism allows cables to be added or removed without undoing the entire bundle, making ongoing maintenance straightforward. Its temperature range also covers outdoor use in direct sunlight or near radiators.

Benefits and Buying Value

This sleeve reduces wire clutter and potential wear points in dynamic environments, supporting longer service life for wiring harnesses without the need for expensive custom looms.

Reuse and Low Maintenance

The sleeve can be removed and reused on different wire bundles or reinstalled after system upgrades.
