Car Gear Stick Shift Knob for Golf 5 6 7 Manual with 12mm Installation Hole

Upgrading the interior of your Volkswagen Golf 5, 6, or 7 manual model starts with a simple yet effective replacement of the gear lever dust boot and shift knob. This leather-covered gear stick knob not only refreshes the look of the centre console but also provides practical protection against dust and dirt entering the mechanism. Designed for a direct fit, the knob matches the original mounting specifications, making installation straightforward. If your current gear stick feels worn or the boot is torn, this set offers a reliable solution that restores both appearance and function without complicated modifications. Professional installation is recommended to ensure the best results, but the process itself is simple and quick for those with basic mechanical confidence.

Features and Construction

This shift knob is built around two core materials that deliver a solid feel and long-lasting performance. The leather outer layer provides a comfortable, non-slip grip, while the handle core offers corrosion resistance for dependable use in varying conditions. Every component is designed to replicate the original fit of the Golf 5, 6, and 7 gear stick assembly.

Material and Build

The knob combines high-quality leather with a robust handle material. Leather provides a natural feel that remains comfortable during daily driving, while the handle core resists corrosion to protect against moisture and wear. Together, these materials ensure the shift knob maintains its appearance and function over time.

Size and Practical Fit

The installation hole diameter measures approximately 12mm, matching the standard gear lever shaft on Golf 5, 6, and 7 manual models. This precise sizing allows the knob to slide onto the shaft securely. The dust boot covers the base to keep the mechanism clean, and the overall design mirrors the original dimensions for a seamless replacement.

Uses and Placement

This gear stick knob is specifically intended for Volkswagen Golf 5, 6, and 7 vehicles equipped with a manual transmission. It serves as a direct replacement for the original knob and dust boot, making it ideal for repairs or cosmetic upgrades.

Event or Professional Use

For professional detailers, mechanics, or car restoration enthusiasts, this shift knob provides a reliable, OEM-style replacement that brings a car interior back to a like-new condition. The simple swap enhances the driving experience for customers who value a clean, functional gear lever.

Everyday Home Use

For everyday drivers, replacing a worn gear stick knob improves comfort and control during daily commutes. The leather grip feels natural in the hand, and the dust boot keeps the mechanism free from debris, helping the gear linkage operate smoothly for longer.

Benefits and Buying Value

Choosing this shift knob offers practical advantages over leaving a worn or damaged unit in place. The direct fit reduces installation time, and the materials provide reliable performance without the need for frequent replacements.

Reuse and Low Maintenance

The leather surface can be wiped clean with a damp cloth to maintain its appearance. The corrosion-resistant handle reduces the risk of degradation, meaning the knob should last for many years under normal use. No special treatments or coatings are required to keep it in good condition.

Why Choose This Product

This gear stick knob is a dedicated fit for Golf 5, 6, and 7 manuals, so there is no guesswork about compatibility. The leather construction offers a tactile upgrade over worn plastic or rubber knobs, and the dust boot protects the gear mechanism. For a straightforward, cost-effective interior refresh, this set delivers solid value.
